Rangers saw off the tentative SPL title challenge of Hearts with a 1-0 win over the Edinburgh side at Ibrox.
Having beaten Rangers at Tynecastle on January 22, the Jam Tarts have now lost to both Celtic and Walter Smith's men in Glasgow in the following 11 days, and are five points behind Rangers and ten behind the Bhoys in the SPL standings.
Rangers scored the only goal of the game after just four minutes through Northern Ireland striker Kyle Lafferty.
Steven Whittaker drifted over a cross into the box and the 23-year-old showed great poise to volley past the Hearts goalkeeper Marian Kello from 15 yards.
Lee McCulloch then headed a long ball from Madjid Bougherra wide of the post, but it was to be the Scot's last involvement, as he limped of the action after just 20 minutes to be replaced by new loan signing El-Hadji Diouf.
Hearts then could have levelled but for Rangers' goalkeeper Allan McGregor's tip over at the back post, from Marius Zaliukas's header after Craig Thomson's free-kick.
Lafferty might have had a second before the break, but headed over a Vladimir Weiss free-kick from close-range.
Rangers could have hit a second shortly after the restart when Bougherra exchanged a one-two with Steven Davis, only for Kello to save.
Diouf had the ball in the net in the final minute, for what he thought was a debut goal, but the assistant referee ruled out the strike for offside.
