Hook holds Wales doubt

by Setanta Staff , 06 January 2012

Wales star James Hook has revealed he may miss Wales' pre-RBS 6 Nations camp in Poland if his club side do not release him.

The former Ospreys utility back is currently playing his rugby across the Channel with French outfit Perpignan, but will be a key player for Wales in the upcoming 6 Nations next month.

Players who play their rugby for the Welsh regions are released two weeks before the start of the competition, however Perpignan can keep hold of Hook up to a week before the tournament.

The 26-year-old has admitted he neither wants to upset Wales boss Warren Gatland or his club side, and is simply waiting for a decision regarding his availability to be made.

He said: "Ultimately I'm out here and have a job to do.

"I love the club I'm with now and don't want to upset the apple cart here.

"It is difficult but all I can do is to express my ambitions to play for Wales and if they want me I'm available."
