Coggins optimistic for Exiles

by Setanta Staff , 15 January 2012

London football boss Paul Coggins is confident that his side can continue to improve in 2012.

It is widely felt that London are in a stronger position now, as they prepare for the new campaign, than they have been in any previous year.

Coggins accepts that expectations have increased, following the Exiles’ historic 0-15 to 0-9 win over Fermanagh in the first round of the All-Ireland Championship qualifiers last year, but the manager has no problem with that.

“We don’t want to be known as a walkover any longer,” he told the Irish Sunday Mirror. “We don’t want to be seen as a one-season wonder after 2011 either.

“Expectations have probably grown but that’s fine. We want to be taken seriously.

“We want to be a tough team to play against and we want teams to think of us as a challenge.”
