Southampton have offered to treble the wages of Gary Hooper in a bid to lure him to St Mary's Stadium.
Currently Celtic star Gary Hooper is the subject of speculation concerning about his fututre in Glasgow and his club have already received a two bids for the forward.
However, these were both rejected by club and player, leaving the Saints to offer a last-chance bid of £6million and a tempting double-your-money offer on his £12,000-a-week wages, rising another 50 per cent should the south coast side be promoted.
Southampton boss Nigel Adkins is hoping to take advantage of the 23-year-old's stalled contract negotiatons in order to reunite with Hooper, whom he managed at Scunthorpe and has said he is not put off by Neil Lennon's insistance that Hooper will still be at Parkhead in the summer, as he feels he would be a perfect addition to their promotion chase.
