Neil Robertson overcame a late fightback from Judd Trump to win 6-3 and secure his first ever Masters final spot at Alexandra Palace on Saturday.
The world number four took control of the game right from the start, taking the first two frames, hitting the century mark in the second frame before Trump finally got anything meaningful on the scoreboard.
Trump failed to get into his stride however, allowing Robertson to seize his opportunities and mercilessly storm ahead to a four frame lead of 5-1, leaving the Australian with just one frame to win to secure his place in the final.
This seemed to awaken Trump somewhat, who claimed the next two frames to give himself a fighting chance at survival. However, the Englishman was the architect of his own downfall when he failed to pot a straightforward blue into the centre pocket, and Robertson's 69 break was enough to see him progress into the final.
"I thought I played really well to go 3-1 up," said Robertson.
"I thought I played really good match play snooker and thankfully he missed a couple today.
"Hopefully I can keep my run [in finals] going and I'll be playing one of the two greats of the game. Either opponent, it's going to be a huge game."
Robertson will face either John Higgins or Shaun Murphy in the final.
