Gloucester confirm Twelvetrees switch

by Setanta Staff , 28 January 2012

England Saxons playmaker Billy Twelvetrees has completed a deal that will see him at Gloucester in the next Aviva Premiership season.

The highly rated 23-year-old had been strongly linked with a move to Kingsholm after he rejected a new deal with his current club Leicester Tigers.

Twelvetrees has come on in leaps and bounds this season following a decent run in the first-team at Welford Road in the absence of the injured Toby Flood.

The utility back has now completed a deal that will keep him with the Cherry and Whites for two years, and the creative player is looking forward to linking up with his new club in the summer.

Twelvetrees said: "It's not been an easy decision but I'm looking forward to being part of what is shaping to be an incredibly talented young English back line.

"I'm incredibly grateful to everyone at the Tigers for the role they've played in helping me to get to this point in my career and, of course, all the support from the fans I've had over the last three years."
