Preview: Sunderland v Norwich (Wed)

by Michelle Fortune , 31 January 2012

Wayne Bridge could make his debut for Sunderland when Norwich travel to the Stadium of Light on Wednesday.

Bridge has joined Sunderland on loan and after completing the paperwork in time he has been included in the Black Cats squad for the visit of the Canaries .

The 31-year-old full-back could feature at some stage given the injury crisis manager Martin O'Neill has to face with Wes Brown (medial ligament), Titus Bramble (Achilles/foot) and Matt Kilgallon (ankle) all out of Wednesday's clash.

Midfielder David Vaughan (ankle ligaments) is likely to be sidelined for several weeks while there are doubts over Lee Cattermole, who is suffering from a hamstring injury.

Norwich manager Paul Lambert has no such worries to deal with after taking the decision to rest a number of players for the FA Cup win over West Brom.

Goalkeeper John Ruddy, striker Steve Morison and midfielders Bradley Johnson and Andrew Surman were all absent from the win at the Hawthorns but they are back in contention and could reappear.

Striker James Vaughan has recovered from a knee injury but he will not be risked.
