Liverpool spank sorry Wolves

by Setanta Staff , 31 January 2012

Andy Carroll, Craig Bellamy and Dirk Kuyt netted as Liverpool beat Wolves 3-0 at Molineux.

Wolves have now gone nine league games without a win and the home fans made their displeasure known to manager Mick McCarthy at the final whistle.

Carroll scored his fifth goal of the campaign, and third in the Premier League, after 52 minutes on the first anniversary of his £35 million move from Newcastle.

Bellamy's throw found Charlie Adam, and the Scot's cross from the left was perfectly flighted for Carroll to net past Wolves' goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey.

Nine minutes later Bellamy doubled the lead with his ninth goal of the season, after being allowed acres of space to drive at the Wolves' defence before shooting past Hennessey.

After 78 minutes Kuyt made it 3-0 with a cool finish from a narrow angle with Adam again the provider.

Wolves substitute Sylvan Ebanks-Blake saw a late 35-yard drive slam against the post, but it did little to assuage the anger of the home fans.
