Coyle happy to keep Davies

by Setanta Staff , 03 February 2012 Coyle happy to keep striker

Owen Coyle says he never even considered selling Kevin Davies in January and claims he will give him plenty of chances at Bolton.

The White skipper was linked with a move to Sunderland in the January transfer window, with reports suggesting he could go having been relegated to the bench by Coyle this season.

However, Bolton rejected the Black Cats' offer for the 34-year-old and Coyle has rubbished talk Davies was looking to leave having becoming frustrated with playing a limited role.

"He wants to be at Bolton, I want him at Bolton and it was a no-brainer what was going to happen in the January window," the Scot told the Bolton News.

"Sunderland were accredited with an initial interest through the media before I got a phone call but we said to them I wanted him to be here and he wanted to be here."
