France unchanged for Ireland

by JP Lonergan , 05 February 2012

Philippe Saint-Andre has retained the same 23-man France squad named for the Italy game for next week’s encounter with Ireland.

Les Bleus kicked off the 2012 RBS 6 Nations with a not terribly convincing win over the Italians on Saturday, but their new coach has not opted to make any changes for the supposed step up in calibre of opposition on matchday two.

Ireland will play at the Stade de France next Wednesday, six days after facing Wales in their opener at the Aviva Stadium.

"There were hesitations on one or two players but we thought we needed to work together and get bearings," Saint-Andre told reporters on Sunday after confirming the squad.

"We need to be more precise. We've already turned our sights towards Ireland."

Forwards:
David Attoub, Vincent Debaty, Nicolas Mas, Jean-Baptiste Poux, William Servat, Dimitri Szarzewski, Pascal Pape, Yoann Maestri, Lionel Nallet, Julien Bonnaire, Thierry Dusautoir (captain), Louis Picamoles, Imanol Harinordoquy.

Backs:
Morgan Parra, Dimitri Yachvili, Francois Trinh-Duc, Lionel Beauxis, Aurelien Rougerie, Maxime Mermoz, Wesley Fofana, Vincent Clerc, Julien Malzieu, Maxime Medard.
