Wenger eyes Henry stay

by Setanta Staff , 05 February 2012 Wenger eyes Henry stay

Arsene Wenger says he will try and keep Thierry Henry at Arsenal for another two weeks.

The striker scored in Saturday's 7-1 victory over Blackburn in what should technically be his last game but Wenger says he will try and keep him on board for the next fortnight.

Wenger is keen for him to play against Tottenham on February 26th and will do all he can to keep hold.

"I haven't looked at it, maybe the maximum possibility we have is two more weeks. Normally no [he would not be here for the Tottenham game]," Wenger said.

Meanwhile, Wenger has also paid tribute to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after another fine performance from the 18-year-old.

"Chamberlain has made a big step in the last months. He produces team play, he is not only going forwards, he is contributing to the defending and has improved very quickly," Wenger added.

"He is a fighter as well, with personality, and is much more mature now."
