Italy change two for England clash

by Setanta Staff , 08 February 2012

Italy coach Jacques Brunel has made two changes to the side for Saturday's Six Nations clash with England in Rome.

The Azzurri are still looking for their first points of the tournament after France beat them 30-12 in the season-opener last Saturday.

The Italians competed well for large parts of the match but Les Bleus were just too strong in the end and Brunel's men will look to bounce back against England.

Stuart Lancaster's side kicked off their campaign with a hard-fought 13-6 victory over Scotland but, with their vociferous fans behind them, Italy might just sense the possibility of an upset.

Aironi lock Marco Bortolami will earn his 90th cap as he has replaced Benetton Treviso's Cornelius Van Zyl in the second row and he will partner club team-mate Quintin Geldenhuys, who replaces Alberto Sgarbi.

There are also three changes on the bench as Antonio Pavanello, Luca Morisi and Mauro Bergamasco have been included in the 22-man squad.

Italy (XV v England): A Masi;, G Venditti, T Benvenuti, G Canale, L McLean; K Burton, E Gori; A Lo Cicero, L Ghiraldini, M Castrogiovanni, Q Geldenhuys, M Bortolami, A Zanni, R Barbieri, S Parisse.

Replacements: T D'Apice, L Cittadini, A Pavanello, Mauro Bergamasco, F Semenzato, T Botes, L Morisi.
