Naughton handed driving ban

by Setanta Staff , 09 February 2012 football news

On-loan Norwich City full-back Kyle Naughton will be off the road for the next 15 months after losing his driving license for speeding.

The defender, who's currently on loan at Carrow Road from Tottenham, was caught on two separate occasions last year for exceeding the limit in Norfolk while behind the wheel of his Audi.

He must now rely on public transport after first being snapped doing 53mph in a 30mph zone on the B1113 near Swardeston and then three months later, he was caught for driving at 96mph on the A11.

The 22-year-old also admitted to Norwich Magistrates' Court that he had been caught speeding three times previously, which has prompted him to sell his car.

Naughton, who pleaded guilty to both offences, told the Eastern Daily Press 24: "I just wanted to say sorry. I got rid of the car as soon as I started picking up points."

In addition to his driving ban, Naughton received a £660 fine plus six points for the first offence, and a £900 punishment and five point penalty for the second incident in November.
