Month ahead crucial

by Setanta Staff , 09 February 2012 Month ahead crucial

Everton's season will be shaped by the month to come according to centre half John Heitinga.

After beating Manchester City last week and being positive in the transfer window there is now an air of confidence at the club but that could all change over the coming month.

Starting with Chelsea on Saturday, Everton then face Championship outfit Blackpool in the FA Cup fifth round, followed by a trip to struggling Queens Park Rangers and a home clash with high-flying Tottenham Hotspur.

Heitinga said: "It is an important month for us, we need to get the points and hopefully we can start looking up at the table. "

If we continue playing as we are at the moment, then the points will come."

It's up to us," he said.

"I am looking forward to the game against Chelsea. "

They are a big team.

They did not do so well in the last couple of weeks so hopefully we can surprise everyone and beat Chelsea at home.

"They started well against Man United last week, scored some good goals, but got pushed back to 3-3. "

But we know they have players with a lot of quality and we need top be at our best to beat Chelsea.

We're doing well at the moment and the confidence is there in the team.

"In the past we have beaten them, and we know we can beat them but everything has to be right," he told the Post.Meanwhile the club have announced there are still tickets available for the clash with Chelsea.
