QPR boss Mark Hughes has backed Shaun Wright-Phillips to impress after an indifferent start to his Rs career.
The former Manchester City and Chelsea winger has struggled to make an impact at Loftus Road since his summer switch from the Etihad Stadium.
Wright-Phillips is yet to find the net since his move to QPR but Hughes feels the 30-year-old will deliver, now that he is playing in his favoured position on the right-wing.
"I think Shaun's doing okay. In fairness I probably haven't been able to play him in his most preferred position, which is wide right," Hughes told the Ealing Gazette.
"I've moved him around, I've played him in the middle and I've predominantly started him on the left. He's got enough ability to be able to adapt so I've been pleased with that.
"But obviously most players will tell you they would ideally play in their preferred position. We've got players coming back that will allow me to do that and Shaun will feel he can have more of an impact."
Wright-Phillips is set to start on the right wing when QPR travel to Blackburn on Saturday in a crucial relegation fixture.
The Rs are just three points clear of 19th placed Rovers and both sides will be desperate to secure all three points as they continue their respective battles against the drop.
