Drogba keen for contract talks

by Setanta Staff , 12 February 2012 Chelsea

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba is aiming for a quick resolution to his future when he returns to London from the Africa Cup of Nations.

The 33-year-old is hoping to come back to Stamford Bridge next week with a smile on his face as he prepares to lead his Ivory Coast side into battle against Zambia tonight.

Whatever the outcome, Drogba is certain to have his pick of clubs to choose from if the Blues fail to reach an agreement with him over a new deal.

Paris St Germain, the New York Red Bulls, Shanghai Shenhua of China and Al-Sadd in Qatar are all reportedly in the running for his signature and willing to hand him the two year contract he is demanding from Chelsea.

Drogba told the Daily Express: "I hope to finalise my future soon."

The Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has also confirmed that contract talks with the player are on his agenda, although it's not his main priority right now as he looks to rediscover a winning formula for his team.

The Chelsea boss, said: "We will wait until Didier gets back."
