Hodgson looking up

by Setanta Staff , 14 February 2012 football news

Boss Roy Hodgson insists West Brom can now look to push up the table rather than over their shoulders after hammering Wolves on Sunday.

The Baggies are now eight points clear of the drop zone thanks to their 5-1 win at Wolves on Sunday.

Hodgson accepts that prior to their resounding win at Molineux West Brom were involved in the relegation battle but the West Brom chief insists his side can now start to push for as high a finish as possible.

However, the 64-year-old admits West Brom are not safe yet and he is eager to avoid complacency, while insisting that the Baggies should have their sights set on a mid-table finish.

He told the Express & Star: "There are 13 games to go and we need another 11 points before we can really start to relax and let our season move on.

"But I think a performance like Sunday with the way we played should get us moving up the table and hopefully setting new goals for ourselves.

"For me that goal would be to finish nearer to the middle of the table than the bottom of the table."
