Godolphin will have no representatives in the Qipco 2000 Guineas after Mandaean and Mighty Ambition were both ruled out of the Newmarket Classic.
Both horses appeared to be on course for the 2000 Guineas when they were declared at Monday's six-day stage but Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford has confirmed that neither will take their place in the race.
Mighty Ambition was sent off the favourite for the Craven Stakes last month but he never looked a serious threat to Trumpet Major as he trailed in fifth and Godolphin are on the lookout for a listed contest, while Mandaean, unbeaten in two starts, is to be aimed at the Betfred Dante Stakes at York on May 17.
"Neither will run in the Guineas," Crisford confirmed.
"Mandaean is going for the Dante - we just kept him in the Guineas to see what the race was like.
"I think we'll find Mighty Ambition a Listed race somewhere."
