Brown: We have no fear

by Richard Field , 23 May 2009

Hull manager Phil Brown has total faith in his side delivering the result to preserve their Premier League status against Manchester United on Sunday.

Brown says he would have settled for this scenario at the start of the season for Hull to define their season on the final day at The KC Stadium.

Hull climbed out of the bottom three following a 1-1 draw against Bolton last weekend but only a win against United will guarantee top-flight football next season.

Anything less and Brown’s side are beholden to other sides to determine their last day fate.

“I’m more chipper this week than last because I wasn’t very happy then about things not being in our control. Now they are,” Brown said in the Independent.

“Would I have settled in August for our season to come down to this with a game on the last day? A definite yes.

“I have looked at my players over 37 games and take a lot of belief from the ability they have shown. They are looking forward to the game rather than fearing it.”
