Seol in two minds

by Tom Walker , 29 May 2009

Seol Ki-hyeon is struggling to decide whether to return to The Premier League.

The South Korean midfielder moved from Fulham to Saudi Arabian outfit Al Hilal on a six-month loan in January – a deal which was expected to be made permanent.

With his Fulham contract expiring after next season the 30-year-old must choose whether he sees out his time in London or stays in Saudi Arabia.

``I have not made up my mind yet. I will explore all options I have,'' he said.

''Because of my lack of playing time, I left Fulham FC and moved to Al Hilal. Taking the field in many games in the Saudi Premier League improved my conditioning and I've thought about playing in the English league again.

''I have one year left in my contract with Fulham, and Al Hilal has still had a managerial change, so I am not certain whether I will return to the team.”

Seol played 26 times for Al Hilal, scoring once, and he paid tribute to the standard of football over there.

''There was a talent gap between the English and Saudi Arabian leagues, but passion for football and the level was much higher than I had thought,” he added.
