Stoke City have targeted Croatia international striker Mario Mandzukic but look like missing out on the player to Uefa Cup runners-up Werder Bremen.
Dinamo’s manager Ivan Cvjetkovic is reported to have received an offer from The Potters for the €10 million-rated player, but Mandzukic appears to have his heart set on a move to Germany.
“I do not know about that,” said Mandzukic of Stoke's interest. “My goal is to join a strong club where I will continue to progress.”
Bremen have made their intentions to sign Mandzukic plain, but Dinamo remain reluctant sellers.
The 23-year-old, one of his team's most prized assets, scored for Croatia in their 4-1 World Cup qualifying defeat to England in September 2008.
