Wolves and Birmingham City are slugging it out for the signature of Coventry City captain Scott Dann.
The 22-year-old has been targeted by Birmingham since the end of the season but Alex McLeish's side have had initial bids rejected by The Sky Blues.
Wolves have now entered the chase for the stopper, who is being valued at between £3.5 million and £4 million.
Local reports have indicated that Dann would prefer a switch to Molineux but he looks set to see what both clubs have to offer.
The two newly-promoted Premier League clubs are keen to strengthen their backlines and Dann has clearly impressed sufficiently at Championship level to suggest he can cut it at the top level.
