Everton have launched a bid for Ligue 1 star Blaise Matuidi and are about to do the same for Stephane Mbia, according to French media reports.
St Etienne midfielder Matuidi has been linked to a host of Premier League sides since breaking into Les Verts’ first team and imposing himself as one of the most promising French players of his generation.
Tottenham are believed to be long-term admirers of the 22-year-old, but it is The Toffees who have made a concrete offer to Damien Comolli’s club - according to radio station RMC.
It appears that Matuidi is not the only Ligue 1 star that David Moyes is determined to lure to Goodison Park, as it is being claimed Rennes are bracing themselves for a bid for their powerhouse Mbia.
The Cameroon international, who issued a come-and-get-me plea to The Toffees and Arsenal last summer, could be allowed to leave Stade Rennais for £10 million.
