Lars Jacobsen’s agent has denied reports the player is on the verge of a switch to Burnley.
The Everton full back had been touted for a possible move to Turf Moor, with reports suggesting The Clarets had already made contact with the player.
Jacobsen signed for The Toffees from Nurnberg last year on a 12-month deal, but a shoulder injury that kept him out of most of the campaign prevented him from making an impact at Goodison Park.
The 29-year-old recently claimed he was hoping for a new deal with Everton and was set for talks with boss David Moyes.
But after only six appearances in an Everton shirt last season, the club are reportedly keen to offload him from the club.
His agent, Karsten Aabrink, admitted there had been no contact with Burnley regarding a possible transfer but he refused to rule out the possibility that a deal could happen.
“There has been nothing but maybe it will happen,” Aabrink said in the Lancashire Telegraph.
“I don’t know if they are interested, I only heard about it when I read it in the press.”
Jacobsen has admitted he wants to remain in The Premier League should he leave Goodison Park, but his agent was remaining tight-lipped as to whether he would welcome a move to Burnley.
“I cannot say yes when it is only in the press,” he said.
“But of course I’m always happy when my players have interest.”
