Bento: Moutinho and Veloso could leave

by Robin Hackett , 16 June 2009

Sporting boss Paulo Bento says he wants to retain midfield duo Joao Moutinho and Miguel Veloso but admits there is a chance they could leave this summer.

Moutinho, 22, has been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Everton while Veloso, 23, is reportedly a target for Manchester City and Bolton.

And while Bento hopes both stay at the club, he admits there is a chance they could leave.

“I have Joao Moutinho for next season as things stand, but things can change,” he told SIC Noticias.

“Sporting have an idea of what we want for next season.

“Miguel Veloso is a player who is under contract until 2013 and, like everyone else, he could be sold or he could stay.

“If he stays, he will be treated as he always has been, playing in the position that best serves the team.”

Veloso reportedly fell out with Bento last season after he was asked to play at left back.
