Bayern Munich supremo Franz Beckenbauer has hinted that Franck Ribery could finally be allowed to change clubs this summer.
A host of clubs have expressed their interest in the France international, with Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona launching bids.
After rejecting all the offers and insisting that the flying winger was untransferable, the German club have apparently changed their mind, as Beckenbauer has revealed that the board of directors will not stand on Ribery’s way if he decided to move on.
While Madrid are believed to be in pole position to snap him up, due to Ribery’s friendship with club advisor Zinedine Zidane, reports in the Spanish press claim that the Merengues are on the brink of making a €55 million (£47m) offer for the Frenchman.
“We have already spoken about that during the board of directors and we all agreed that if he wants to go, then we will sort this issue,” Beckenbauer told Bild.
