Wigan have complete the signing of Swansea midfielder Jordi Gomez for £1.6 million on a four-year deal, Spanish sources claim.
The Latics new boss Robert Martinez was desperate to bring his fellow countryman to the JJB, and it has been claimed that Gomez has shown thumbs up regarding a permanent move.
The player’s parent club Espanyol had an option to lure the midfielder back in Barcelona, in case Swansea were to be relegated.
It has been claimed that Tony Mowbray’s Celtic were keen on signing Gomez, who achieved an impressive season in The Championship, but it appears that Wigan have won the race for his services.
