Let’s try to sign Drogba - Marseille

by Laurent Picard , 21 June 2009

Marseille's new chairman Jean-Claude Dassier has revealed he will try to lure Didier Drogba away from Chelsea.

L’OM have parted ways with their charismatic boss Pape Diouf, following a bust up with the board of directors, and Dassier is expected to be appointed as the club’s new supremo on Monday.

In his first interview, Dassier has dropped a bombshell by admitting that he will do his best to try and capture Drogba, who remains L’OM fans’ favourite player.

For his part, The Blues striker, who is yet to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge, is reported to be dreaming of returning to the club he supported as a boy.

“Everybody wants it [Drogba back at Marseille],” Dassier told Le JDD.

“We will see if it is doable and if we can afford it.”

Bringing Drogba back to Le Velodrome would guarantee Dassier a brilliant start to his reign.
