Wigan eye La Liga duo

by Adam Marshall , 22 June 2009

Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is continuing to look in his native Spain for fresh talent.

The new Wigan manager has already snapped up Jordi Gomez from Espanyol and has other potential deals in the pipeline in his homeland.

Left-sided forward Albert Crusat is believed to be one of them, with the Almeria ace catching the eye with his flank work.

The diminutive 27-year-old has been with Almeria since 2005 and helped them gain promotion to the Spanish top flight.

An offer of around 3 million is being bandied about in the Spanish media and it could be enough to secure his signature.

The second player is Rayo Vallecano's powerful midfielder Mohamed Diame.

One of the top stars of the last Segunda Liga campaign, the energetic Frenchman has a number of admirers with Schalke also providing competition for his signature.
