Gomes going Dutch after Spurs spell

by Robin Hackett , 22 June 2009

Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes says he would love to return to PSV – but not yet.

The 28-year-old Brazil international endured a difficult start to life at White Hart Lane after leaving Holland last summer and, although he later recovered his form, rumours persist that he could move on.

However, despite admitting that he would relish the chance to move back to PSV, he feels he still has something to prove in England.

“It is my greatest wish to return to PSV someday, but not yet,” he said in Voetbal Zone.

“It’s too soon. I still have three years left on my contract at Tottenham.

“I’ve had a difficult season. Early on, I faced a lot of criticism, but later on things were much better.

“Now I want people to see that I really am a good goalkeeper.”

Harry Redknapp has previously stated that he has no intention of selling Gomes.
