Manchester United are unlikely to be able to afford Gremio striker Douglas Costa, according to his agent.
United have reportedly already made contact with the Brazilian club about the 18-year-old, but his agent, Cesar Bottega, believes United will offer a maximum of $22 million (£13.5m) given the current strength of the pound.
And, with Gremio president Duda Kroeff said to be holding out for £18m, Bottega believes a deal may not be possible.
“I don’t believe they can reach those values,” he told Zero Hora.
“At the end of the Brazilian championship, Douglas will be worth at least twice what he’s worth now.”
