Glasgow Warriors coach Sean Linenn has no complaints with the cards his side have been dealt for next season’s Heineken Cup.
Lineen’s men have been paired with Gloucester, Biarritz and Newport Gwent Dragons in Pool Two and while there is plenty of class and craft in that field of opposition, the coach of the Scottish side thinks they can make their way past them and reach the last eight.
In the season just gone Glasgow finished third in their pool and Lineen is determined to better that and is looking forward to the challenge to come.
"It is a draw that excites me and one that offers us a realistic chance of progressing, and that has to be our objective,” Lineen was quoted as saying by The Glasgow Evening Times.
“When you look at Edinburgh's draw with Stade Francais, Bath and Ulster in Pool Four, then we maybe have the better draw.
"But throughout all six Pool groupings there are some great potential match-ups and probably the Group of Death is in Pool Five where you have Stade Toulouse, Cardiff Blues, Sale Sharks and Harlequins. So we have got to look at Pool Two and say bring it on.
"When it comes to Biarritz, then we did well against Toulouse last season in beating them over in France and came very close to doing the double home and away against Biarritz the previous season. So we have got to have belief in ourselves, in our ability to do well against them.
"As for Dragons, they have been a bit of a bogey team for us but we finished above them last season in the Pool stages and we finished above them in The Magners League and we have also beaten them at their place.
"Gloucester will be tough but, again, when we met Bath last season, we came very close to beating them at their place. So the message is that with a little bit of extra belief we know we can beat these teams. It is just a great draw."
