Usain Bolt, who was named the 2009 Laureus World Sportsman of the Year on Wednesday, has insisted that he has no immediate plans to compete in 400 metres races.
Bolt won 100m, 200m and 4x100m titles in world record time at the Beijing Olympics, and it has been suggested that the Jamaican would add the 400m to his events for the 2010 Games.
The 22-year-old said he will consider 400m in the future, but for now, is concentrating on the distances more familiar to him.
"In the long run, I may go up to the 400 meters, but right now I'm not really worried about it because it's not really my favourite event or anything," Bolt was quoted as saying by Runner's World after picking up the prestigious award in Toronto.
"I may move up in the future, but when I go up, it will be a lot of hard work."
Bolt admitted that his life has changed significantly since his incredible Olympic performance last year.
"Pretty much I can't go in the street that much," he said. "I don't get things done that easily anymore.
"I have a lot of attention when I get out on the street, so I pretty much stay off the street and stay home. If I don't have to go on the street, I pretty much depend on my friends to do anything that needs to be done."
