The GAA have revealed a nine-step protocol in order to provide greater transparency when it comes to county managerial appointments.
The organisation are looking to get away from the convoluted appointments - frowned upon in some quarters - of the likes of Down's James McCartan and Armagh's Paddy O'Rourke.
County boards will now be expected to follow new guidelines aimed at streamlining all managerial appointments.
They will be asked to select a manager appointment committee, establish a selection strategy; draw up a list of suitable candidates and provide a complete shortlist of candidates, according to the Belfast Telegraph.
Counties will also be expected to formulate a key questions list for interviews, make an individual section report, forward their recommended candidate for ratification, prepare a manager’s charter and show greater awareness in dealing with media relationships.
