Niall McCarthy staying put for now

by GAA Staff , 05 November 2009

Cork hurling boss Denis Walsh has been handed some good news after Niall McCarthy put plans to go travelling on hold.

The experienced Carrigtwohill forward had been planning to visit Australia, but has changed his mind and will likely be a key member of Walsh's panel as Cork look to bounce back from a disappointing 2009.

Sean Og O hAiplin has already committed himself for another season in the red of Cork. Ronan Curran, Ben and Jerry O'Connor and Tom Kenny are also expected to play on, while Walsh also has a lot of young talent at his disposal as Cork look to challenge the domination of Kilkenny and Tipperary in 2010.
