O'Shaughnessy diagnosed with MS

Limerick hurler Andrew O'Shaughnessy has been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

O'Shaughnessy, who is a Lieutenant in the Irish Army, has been a member of the Limerick panel since 2002 and made his debut for the Treatymen when he came on as substitute in the All-Ireland qualifier against Cork in the same year.

The 24-year-old was a key member of the squad that reached the All-Ireland final in 2007 and his achievements were recognised when he was awarded an All-Star.

The Kilmallock clubman has already amassed 8-102 in 33 Championship matches for Limerick.
