Malachy Clerkin, former chief sports writer for the Sunday Tribune and author of the Ruby Walsh biography, has now joined the Setanta Sports team. A lifelong motorsport fan, Declan Quigley has been a Formula One journalist and broadcaster since 1996. Reporting for the Irish Independent, RTE and Setanta Sports TV he has covered Jordan’s first win, Eddie Irvine’s title tilt with Ferrari, the years of Schumacher dominance followed by the new dawn heralded by Alonso, Raikkonen and Hamilton. As a keen amatuer racer he has competed with success in Formula Ford and Formula Vee scoring wins from the Phoenix Park to Brands Hatch.
