Sven admits sack 'a possibility'

Sven Goran Eriksson remains pragmatic about his Manchester City future after admitting that an exit from Eastlands now looks a ‘possibility’.
The Swede has maintained a dignified demeanour while speculation about his future has rumbled on in recent weeks, with reports that Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari is being lined up to take over.
“Yes, it’s a possibility, of course it is,” said Eriksson on Setanta Sports News when asked about whether he thought he may be sacked.
“That’s not a secret for anyone in the world of football today. But we’ll see. Let’s play the last game and have a little bit of patience.”
The former England coach has been touted as a potential boss of Benfica if he does leave City, and after confirming he had met with officials of the Portuguese club earlier in the week the Bwin Liga side also issued a statement.
“At the moment our coach vacancy has been centred on Eriksson and we will not reveal other names,” said Benfica spokesman Ricardo Maia.
“More details about our future coach will be announced next week when the Portuguese league and The Premier League finish.”
A statement on Benfica's website said: “Following media reports, the club can confirm that it has had preliminary conversations with Mr Eriksson to fulfil our main coach vacancy.
“So far we have not discussed any contract details, such as duration or salaries.”
