Cuellar committed to cup finalists

Carlos Cuellar is sure he took the right decision to join Rangers, with the Spanish defender happy to commit his future to the club despite reported interest in him from The Premier League.
Cuellar has been a revelation for The Gers this season, having been plucked from the relative obscurity of Primera Division makeweights Osasuna.
The Scottish Football Writers’ Player of the Year was not even a regular at the Basque club but caught the attention of Rangers when it became clear he would be available for transfer last summer.
Cuellar's form for the Uefa Cup finalists has had Tottenham and Newcastle sitting up and taking notice, but the quadruple chasing Gers are in a position to sate the Spaniard's desire for silverware.
“I came here because I knew it was a great club, who had a chance of winning many trophies and who could offer the chance of playing in Europe every season which is something I always wanted," Cuellar told AS.
“I know I made the right decision.”
Asked if he would remain at the club next season, Cuellar was unequivocal. "Yes," he replied, "I am settled."
Cuellar's continental experience has been vital in his club’s passage through to the Uefa Cup final and the 26-year-old has urged Walter Smith’s side to seize the day when they take on Zenit St Petersburg at the City of Manchester Stadium on Wednesday.
“We will go there to win," he added. "Football, as you know, has many twists. You don’t know if you’ll ever have another chance to play in a final.
“It is an historic moment for the club. We have to win it.”
