Distin hits out at Portsmouth
by Alex Livie, 15 May 2008
Just three days before the FA Cup final, Portsmouth skipper Sylvain Distin has launched a stinging attack on the club and his team-mates.
Pompey’s form has been miserable since they secured safe passage to the FA Cup final and the players have been accused of shifting focus from the league to Wembley.
They were booed off following Sunday’s defeat to Fulham and Distin is clearly frustrated by their current run of form.
The French centre back is convinced Pompey have been their own worst enemies in recent weeks, as he feels there has been a lack of fight.
"It is strange as it is a good mood at training,” Distin told Setanta Sports News. “Everybody is haapy to come here and work, but during the games we have not been playing well.

”Personally I feel like we don’t fight enough and I am not happy about it.
“It is Harry's (Redknapp) job, I have got my point of view, it is hard to talk about it for the whole squad, but as I say personally I don’t think we work hard enough and if you don’t work hard enough you can’t win games.”
Looking ahead to Saturday’s cup final with Cardiff, Distin added: “I don’t pay attention to the opposition, I focus on us.
”I feel we have enough quality to beat any team on the day, apart from perhaps Real Madrid and Barcelona, but we can beat anyone and we have to focus on our job and not the opposition.”
