Froch opponent changed again
by Ciaran Baynes, 08 May 2008
Carl Froch's opponent on Saturday's bill in Nottingham has changed once more and he will now face unbeaten Polish fighter Albert Rybacki.
The latest change of opponent for the WBC's number one contender is due to Rubin Williams having immigration problems.
Froch now faces Rybacki (15-0, 8 KOs) who has fought in Britain three times before, most notably when he became the first man to stop Tony Dodson in 2002.
Since that Dodson fight the 37-year-old has fought just three times, the last being a victory over American journeyman Freeman Taft in March.
The Nottingham fighter himself stopped Dodson in three rounds, six less than it took Rybecki, in 2006 and is confident of doing the same to Rybacki.
"I'll take care of him in five rounds," Froch told setantasports.com's Spencer Fearon.
"You'll see for yourself why all the super middleweights are running scared of me.
"Rubin wasn't allowed in for immigration reasons but they all say that don't they.
"I've got to hand it to Mick Hennessy for getting me someone of this stature, an unbeaten fighterm at this short notice.
"He beat Tony Dodson, but I did it in three rounds."
