Froch earns fourth round win
by Adam Marshall, 13 May 2008
Carl Froch demolished Albert Rybacki in front of his home Nottingham crowd on Saturday night.
'The Cobra' dominated a one-sided fight against his hastily-arranged opponent at The Trent FM Arena and cheered the spectators after Junior Witter surprisingly lost his title to Timothy Bradley.
The super-middleweight encounter was something of a mismatch as the unbeaten 30-year-old was on top throughout with referee John Keane stopping the contest in the fourth round to spare Rybacki further punishment.
One outstanding upper-cut in the third round rocked Rybacki back on his heels and the outcome soon became inevitable.

A challenge to Joe Calzaghe, although unrealistic, is top of Froch's agenda even though Danish ace Mikkel Kessler is a likelier target.
"Never say never in this sport," said Froch to ITV afterwards. "I'm WBC number one, he's got to defend his WBC prestigious title against me or he's got to give it to me or vacate it. It's not an honorable thing to do.
"Me and Joe Calzaghe, we're on talking terms. I'm fine with Joe, he's a great champion and I've got a lot of respect for him, I really have.
"It'll be such a shame if he couldn't give the fans and British public what they want - a Calzaghe-Froch tear-up is what everyone is looking for.
"The WBC route is the route I'm on [though] and, if it's another route, I can defend that against all the other top names and become a superstar."
Although Froch is a mandatory challenger to Calzaghe, and the fight will be demanded by The Cobra's camp on Monday, the Welshman is virtually certain to vacate his title with a fight against Roy Jones Jnr in the pipeline.
