John Daly has expressed his disappointment at not being able to compete in the Irish Open but explained that his own charity event in Arkansas is more important to him.
The colourful American did reveal, however, that he is pondering a return to the European Tour at the end of the month, at the Wales Open.
"I would just love to be playing at Adare Manor but my charity event in my home town Arkansas means a lot to me so I have to be there,” Daly said.
"My next event is supposed to be the St Jude Championship in Memphis but I am considering playing in the Wales Open.”
And Daly revealed that he is open to the idea of switching from the PGA Tour to the European Tour.
"I would not rule out playing a full season in Europe because there is just so many courses on the PGA Tour where you can't hit driver like you can in Europe,” he added.
