EXCLUSIVE: Star pair delight Heffernan
by Johnny Ward, 12 May 2008
Seamus Heffernan was delighted with Soldier Of Fortune and Yeats after they worked following racing on Sunday at Leopardstown.
The duo worked seperately, with a stablemate, and easily won their gallop without being over-extended.
Yeats, who won at Navan last month, is being aimed once more at the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot, for which he is antepost favourite.
Soldier Of Fortune has all the Group One middle-distance races open to him, after finishing an unlucky fifth in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe last season.
"They both went very well and I was very happy with them," Heffernan told setantasports.com.
"They're sound and they're classy horses. They take life as it comes.
"They can win their trials because they have so much class. They don't have to be fully fit, they don't have to get the run-of-the-race, because they are so good."
