Cesare heads 15 left in Lockinge
by Johnny Ward, 12 May 2008
A total of 15 horses have been left in Saturday's Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes at Monday's five-day stage.
James Fanshawe's Cesare, who bolted up on his first run this term, heads the betting for the Newbury Group One, though he could face one or more of four challengers from the Aidan O'Brien stable.
The Ballydoyle handler has left in Astronomer Royal, Duke Of Marmalade, Haradasun and Mount Nelson; Godolphin could run Blue Ksar and Creachdoir.
Peter Chapple-Hyam has three possible runners in the classy Tariq, Medicine Path and Al Qasi; Phoenix Tower, Arabian Gleam, Rob Roy, Barshiba and Majestic Roi are the other potential participants.
Six horses originally entered will not run: Major Cadeaux, Dubai's Touch, Kandidate, Linngari, Royal Oath and Harvest Queen.
