Twice to face five in Dante
by Oli Skehan , 13 May 2008
Six runners will line up for the totesport.com Dante Stakes at York on Thursday with current Vodafone Derby favourite Twice Over the one who all eyes will be on.
Twice Over maintained his unbeaten record by landing the Craven Stakes at Newmarket on his seasonal reappearance before sidestepping the 2000 Guineas in favour of a tilt at the Epsom showpiece.
Henry Cecil's charge should be given the most to do on Thursday by John Gosden's Centennial who won his Classic Trial at Sandown in good style.
Sir Michael Stoute saddles Tartan Bearer while McCartney will run in the Godolphin blue for the first time after his move from Mark Johnston's yard.
The other Godolphin runner is Young Pretender who will be ably assisted by Frankie Dettori.
The only Irish runner is Aidan O'Brien's Frozen Fire.
