Nikolay Davydenko and David Ferrer both cruised through to the third round of the Hamburg Masters, on Tuesday.
World number four Davydenko claimed an easy 6-4 6-1 victory over Croatian Ivan Ljubicic, while Ferrer saw off another Croat in Ivo Minar, the Spaniard triumphing 6-3 6-3.
However, number eight seed Richard Gasquet is out, the Frenchman suffering a shock 6-3 6-2 defeat by Italian Andreas Seppi.
Meanwhile, Stanislas Wawrinka, who reached the final of last week's Rome Masters only to be defeated by Novak Djokovic, maintained his current good run of form with a straight-sets win over Alberto Martin [6-3 6-3] in their first-round encounter.
Spain's Tommy Robredo is also through to the last 32, after a hard-fought win over German Philipp Kohlschreiber, the 2006 Hamburg Champion recovering from a poor start to secure a 2-6 7-6 [7-5] 6-3 victory.
