Love offers advice to Open whingers

Former USPGA champion Davis Love lll is not happy with the negative attitude which some Americans employ towards the Open.
Certain Americans, at Royal Birkdale, were disappointed to encounter wind and rain on the Southport links and consequently just did not perform.
“Just don’t come,” Love said. “If you’re going to have a bad attitude on Thursday before you tee off because it’s raining, then don’t come, because you’re just wasting your time.
“It’s going to be bad, eventually, one way or another.”
Love does not have a gripe with those players who elect to stay away and, the most notable this year, was Kenny Perry with a hat-trick of PGA Tour wins this season.
“Kenny is a great guy. There’s nothing bad in his heart,” added Love.
“He wasn’t complaining. He just doesn’t want to play.”
