Martinez to bide time over striker

Roberto Martinez has told Victor Moses that he will have to be patient before he is given his opportunity in the first team.

The 19-year-old has only been a bit part player for the Latics so far since completing his move from Crystal Palace in the transfer window and is set to be on the bench again for Sunday's game with Tottenham.

Martinez says the reason he has only used Moses sparingly is because he believes he needs time to settle in but has reassured the promising striker that his time will come.

"He is such a talented boy, but we need to help him," Martinez told the Daily Mirror.

"Football will make the decision, as soon as I think he is ready, he will play. "

At the moment he is enjoying being here and settling in.

When he comes on as a sub it doesn't faze him at all."

"You can see he has got the ability that the big clubs would pay big money for.

"He can win a game with one single action. He will be a very big player here for years to come."
