Morten Gamst Pedersen has revealed that he is revelling in the new midfield role handed to him by boss Sam Allardyce.
Pedersen has become an integral part in Blackburn's system in the centre of midfield over the last few months and he has responded with a series of impressive performances.
The 28-year-old Norwegian is out of contract at the end of the season but the signs look good that he will be stay as he relishes his new lease of life under Allardyce.
Pedersen told Rovers Players: "It has been good to play more centrally. I am playing left of the central three and it has been good fun. I can go forward and am on the ball more than I was on the wing.
"
I can go up and down in my role.
Sometimes I arrive in attack a little later and you don't get marked.
But you have to do the hard work as well.
"You have to back up your defenders and do your defensive work. But you have to cope with how the games go. When you are in possession it is up to you to get the ball and do something with it.
"
There are more people in the middle of the pitch as well and it is easier to get into a challenge.
You just have to take one for the team and it is good fun."
